Washing throw pillow has some different steps than washing former pillow. Nevertheless, some people do not know the correct steps and make the decoration on the pillow still looks great. Since cleaning a throw pillow is a little bit tricky, I suggest to be more patient and careful in doing so. So, here we are, discussing the right steps. First and foremost, we have to know what kind of fabric it made of. If you do not have any idea, check its label. Mostly, throw pillow are made of velvet, silk, linen, or cotton. If it is made of velvet or satin, the washing must be profesionally dry-cleaned. But, if it is made of cotton or linen, you can use a mild upholestery shampoo. Now, let’s move on to the steps. If the throw pillow cover is removeable, remove it first. You can wash the cover separately. If the pillow has stain, clean it well first. You can use color safe prewash spray. To do this, rub the spray to the stain with a dump sponge carefully so it will not tore the fibric. Then, check on the label if the pillow is machinable or not; mostly they are. Now, you can put it in the warm water to do a gentle wash. Do not forget to use a mild detergent. After the wasshing machine fisnish its works, hang the pillow on a well-ventilaed area. If on the lable it is said that the pillow is dreyer-safer, you can dry it in lowheat with a dryer. After making sure that it is dry, you can fluff thepillow’s shape so that it will look like before and you can mantain its former shape. So, after it is really dry, you can start to use it again.
