Gardening is an interesting hobby. You can enjoy planting your backyard as well as get direct touch from the nature. This can make you get more fresh air. However, choosing the right plants is sometimes not easy. If you are a kind of those who do not want to get busy with your plants, may be you can choose to have succulents as your plant. This is a kind of plant that can grow very well in a drought since it is very water thrifty. There are some well-known examples of succulents like cacti, burro’s tail, spiky, etc. Those have unique size and texture for giving additional touch in your garden.
For having a succulents’ garden outdoor, you need to consider some factors, such as: the soil type, its planting location, configuration, and the moist level around it. You need to know about the type of succulent plants you are going to plant, instead its basic type. If it is adapted in a bright and sunny location or not, for example.
If you are ready to plant your succulent, you may come first with the sunny location and decide the space you will put them. You have to check the soil condition and its drainage by digging it and filling it with water. Then, you can design the planting ways by put the tallest succulent in the center part of it and put the shorter around its edges to give more definition. Since succulents can live in a dry place, it still needs water. So, for preventing any run out of water, you can put some pebbles or small rocks to decrease the evaporation. This is also helpful to prevent the formation of weed around the plants.
The way of watering succulents is also a little bit different with the usual plants. The best way to do it is by once you watering it, you have to do it deeply. And make sure the soil has dried out again before you watering it again. This will make the plants grow healthier.
